go see "blood diamond"
long, but amazing...

Greetings to ya'll!!!

After Hannah's last post i felt that i needed to spred some sparks of patrioism!!

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

thoughts

Nolan and I went to Rob Bells church this last sunday and the service really broke my heart. I've never really heard him talk in this way but basically the service was all in statistics. Andy I actually thought of you and thought you would really like it and highly suggest listening to it on their website. These stats are there under the listen section as well. As I am looking through it now I can almost remember everything Rob was saying so I guess I was really into it. I haven't really stopped thinking about any of it since. It was all about how the rest of the world views Americans. He covered a lot on the war and just our resources compared to the rest of the world. If you've listened to the Nooma Rich, it reminded me a little of that, but not really about money in way more detail. These are the stats he was showing take a look and then go listen to it if it sparks an interest. He was explaining a lot of each slide as he was talking. It's changed my thinking for sure.
Go here to read stats.

you guys remember this one?

thanks

Hey,

Thanks for your guys' support. it ment the world.

here's to the future...

so i'm toying with the idea of not being a teacher. you know how i've always considered myself a better writer than a speaker (despite all the spelling mistakes; get off it). well, today i'm talking with one of my professors who has gotten a good idea of how i write. i;m gonna talk to him about just pursuing the whole writing thing.
i feel like a dork, but i think the thing that really got to me was a TV show of all things. you knwo the show "Studio 60"? yeah, well everytiem i watch it, i think how awesome it would be to write for a show like that. not the show in the show, but the actual "studio 60" show tha is on NBC. it's intelligent, well written, clever... ya know...
so yeah... i'll let you know when i'm a famous writer for a hit show.
or i'll just write you guys stories every so often and then you can just tell me that i'm famous...
